A 2.0 true story

Barney: "It's gonna be legen... wait for it... dary"
Ted: "Guys, I found this awesome application on the market. It will be useful for our trip! Look here: MissPlitty, niiiiice name too!" :)
Barney: "I am awesome, not that Android app..."
Marshall: "Barney, how much are the flight tickets you bought?"
Barney: "2400 $"
Marshall: "Ok Ted, my best friend, let me see how your app works"
Barney: "Ted is my best friend... Ted?"
Ted: "Marshall is my best friend. Here we go Marshall: we are going to spend a lot of time in London and a few days in Paris, so I start by creating an event called 'london and paris' and set the default currency for our expenses to 'GBP', easy"
Robin: "What does GBP mean?"
Ted: "GBP stands for Great Britain Pounds, it's like CAD, for Canadian dollars."
Barney: "What does Canada mean?"
Robin: "Idiot :-) "
Lili: "Ok guys, Barney just spent 2400 dollars, not pounds, this is going to be a mess. Dollars, pounds, and then we will have expenses in euro too, since we are also travelling to Paris!"
Ted: "Wait buddies, I tried it, it's awesome!"
Barney and Robin: "I am awesome!"
Barney: "Ehy, I am awesome"
Robin: "No, I am awesome!"
Ted: "Ok, let's insert our names in the participants tab, so we have Barney, Ted, Robin, Lili and Marshall. Let's create a new expense named 'flight' and fill in all the data. I can change the currency for this expense, and put it to 'USD'. Oh, remember that at the airport I bought an ac dc universal adapter, too. I spent 6 dollars."

So they fly to London, and Robin pays a taxi for all. 45 pounds. Mashall and Lili have dinner by themselves and marshall spends 32 £. Robin payed 350 £ for the apartment shared by all of them. It's time to have some beers, Ted pays 12 £ for 5 beers. Barney sees a beautiful suit and he wants to buy it for everyone, so he spends 700 £.

They go to Paris then. Barney pays 80 € for a tour shared by all. 1000 € for souvenirs payed by Lili, who also pays 320 € for shoes for her and Robin.

Barney: "So, Ted. We have to calculate for three different currencies! It's a mess!"
Robin: "Indeed!!!"
Ted: "Calm down guys... just tap on 'Calculate' and... here we go: MissPlitty calculates and suggests for each different currency used in our trip! I am sending you an email with an attached file containing all this stuff... check it out!"

The day after, in Barney's office:
Barney: "Ted was right, this app is just like me: AWESOME!"

What is MissPlitty?

Suppose you are travelling with your friends in Italy. You are quite a big group since there are four guys (obi-wan, marty, tarzan and fonzie) and four girls (jane, chun-li, zelda and uga). You are enjoying your trip, aren't you? Ok, yeah, Italy is a good place.

Now after a while you realize that you need to feed, otherwise you die. So you go to a pizzeria in the very center of Rome and you order 8 pizzas: 247 €! Surprised??? You are in the most expensive pizzeria of Rome, man! marty is going to pay for all the team, because you don't want to split the bill every time you spend for something (you will do it once back home).

It's time to go to the hostel tarzan booked. It was a cheap hostel, only 400 € for four nights, special offer! Then you go and visit the Colosseo, chun-li pays for all of you, 88 €. Then obi-wan wants an icecream, but he doesn't have the money with him, so marty pays for him and for jane who suddenlty felt the need to eat an icecream too. He pays 3.80 €. zelda proposes to rent a car and go to the sea, and uga, fonzie and obi-wan decide to go with her. obi-wan pays 115 € with credit card. They go and spend 30 € for fuel (zelda), 5 € for highways (uga), 9 € for sandwiches (uga).

They come back the day after and they have breakfast with the other guys. zelda is still recovering, she is still a bit drunk from the previous evening.
- zelda: guys you are going to pay my breakfast because yesterday I payed three hundred dollars for fuel.
- uga: you payed 30!
- obi-wan: weren't they euros?
- zelda: are we in Europe?
- uga: I also spent a lot of money, more or less 5600 € for sandwiches and drinks.
- obi-wan: where are the receipts?
- zelda: what do you mean?
- uga: I had them in my wallet one second ago... now they disappeared...
- fonzie: eeeehhhhhyyyyy (thumbs up)

The last day you go to the restaurant and uga pays for all, 225 €. It's time to pack your bags and go to the airport. Once there marty pays a coffee for him and obi-wan, total 2.00 €. Ok, you are at home, it's time to see pictures, share a movie made by jane at the zoo with tarzan and... split money!

- zelda: I want my 300 dollars!
- uga: they were 30! idiot!
- obi-wan: I thought we payed in euros!
- zelda: were we in Europe?

Ok, let's go on:
- tarzan: i have the credit card receipt for the hostel: 400 €.
- obi-wan: here is my credit card receipt, 115 €, but I don't remember for what it was... maybe for the icecreams?
- zelda: I want my 300 dollars!!!

Ok guys, you lost almost all the receipts and you didn't write down any expense, zelda is nearly crying, a true friendship is ending because you don't know how to split money.
- fonzie: eeeeeeeeehhhhhyyyyyy (thumbs up)
- uga: why are you eeehhhhhhyyyying??????
- fonzie: ehhhyy eehhyyyyyy eeeeeeeeeehhyyyyyyyy!!!!!
- obi-wan: he is trying to communicate with us.
- fonzie: e-e-e-hhhyy eEEEEEHYYY...
- marty: he is saying that he wrote all expenses on his new android powered mobile phone. Fonzie, could you tell us how did you do??
- fonzie: E-E.........hyyyyyyyy.
